Hi, I’m Paul, the guy behind The Jewellery Hub and I thought I would create a short about page to give you some info about me and the site.

So who am I? My name is Paul Haywood FGA DGA and I’m a fully qualified gemologist through the Gemmological Association of Great Britain and had my own online jewellery retailer for a number of years.

Why Did I Start The Jewellery Hub?

Even though the jewellery trade has been around for a long time, I felt that it is a bit disconnected, especially if you are new to the industry and trying to find out:

• What is going on in the industry
• Jobs that are going
• Who the good suppliers, businesses and tradespeople are

Is very challenging and while things like Facebook groups have made things a lot easier over the last few years, it still isn’t easy to find things out.

This last one was something I faced a lot in my early days of running my jewellery business as I was an outsider and didn’t know anyone in the trade, which made finding the businesses and suppliers that I ended up using very difficult and it took a lot of time and effort to find them and I had the advantage of living a few miles away from Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

I had the idea for a site like The Jewellery Hub many years ago but I didn’t have the skills or know-how to build a site like this but after 10 years of building all different types of websites, I felt it was time to turn my idea into a reality a found that thejewelleryhub.co.uk was available and thought it was the perfect name for this new venture.

So I pulled the trigger and got to building, with the idea of making a site where people can post their businesses and hopefully connect them with potential customers and if successful, I do have plans to add many more features in the future.
